Quality visitors targeted at MATTA Fair
KUALA LUMPUR: The MATTA Fair is back and will be held for three days from March 13 to 15.
MATTA Fair organising chairman John Tan said they were expecting quality visitors rather than quantity this year.
“We want visitors to purchase the packages offered rather than just ‘window shop’. It does not matter how many visitors we receive but the sales should be good,” Tan said.
He added that this year, sales for domestic holidays were expected to increase by up to 45% because many Malaysians and foreigners were interested to travel within the country.
“Domestic holidays are a vital contributor to our economy and there is a lot of potential to grow, hence we should encourage the industry,
“This year MATTA Fair’s theme is ‘Colour Your Life’ because we want it to make a difference to the visitors to urge them to travel,” Tan said.
He also said he was glad with the support of the Tourism Ministry for the fair.
Tan added that the exhibitors had promised to offer colourful holiday packages, which will be affordable for all.
Countries like Taiwan, Turkey, India and China will be among the exhibitors.
The fair is expected to receive around 85,000 visitors with 800 exhibitor booths this year.
“We are expecting a target sales of more than RM1mil,” Tan said.
Exhibitors who wish to take part in the fair can register at MATTA’s office starting Jan 10.
