New Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and 97
Barely after a month since the launched of the updated formula of the RON95 fuel, Shell Malaysia has just launched its most advanced fuel economy formula ever, called Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and Shell FuelSave Unleaded 97.
The new Breakthrough Fuel claimed to be able to Save up to 1 litre per tank with Shell FuelSave.
With Shell FuelSave, a more efficient engine means a more economical drive.
“New Shell FuelSave Unleaded is not only designed to help keep critical engine and fuel system components clean and working at their best, but also contains, for the first time, a unique Efficiency Improver, developed to reduce energy losses in the engine, thereby delivering better fuel economy, to help today’s driver get the most out of every drop.
Designed to reduce energy losses in the engine
The new Efficiency Improver is designed to lubricate your engine where normal engine oils can’t easily reach. This enables the engine to turn more freely and results in more of your fuel’s energy being available to drive the wheels.
This improves the efficiency of your engine and thereby providing you with improved fuel economy.
Formulated to help keep your engine clean
Combustion is most efficient when precise amounts of air and fuel are mixed together at the right time. With some conventional fuels, deposits may form over time on the back of the inlet valves. This can lead to delays in the required fuel charge entering the engine and a poor mix of fuel and air. All of which leads to a reduction in your engine’s efficiency – and a less economical ride.
Shell FuelSave is designed to prevent the build-up of these deposits, helping to keep your engine clean and your fuel consumption lower.”

A part of the car fuel efficiency, I also choose Petrol Station that has the pump speed plus reliability and speed of the credit card machine. If the the credit card machine is slow or not working, I will never visit that Petrol Station again, There are plenty of other Petrol Station to my way home.
I usually collect BonusLink point when I visit Shell Petrol Station.
By the way, do you really care or believe in differences of the fuel brands or just a marketing gimmick?

Save Up To 1 Litre For Every Full Tank With Shell’S New Fuelsave Petrol
Kuala Lumpur, 6 October 2009 – Shell Malaysia today unveiled its most advanced fuel economy formula ever, ‘Shell FuelSave Unleaded’, formulated to help motorists save up to 1 litre with every full tank*. The new Shell FuelSave Unleaded which is available in both RON 95 and RON 97 is the result of Shell’s latest innovation in fuel research and technology.
The new Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and 97 were launched today by Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Mohzani Abdul Wahab in Kuala Lumpur and broadcasted live in 3 other locations- Penang, Kuantan and Johor Bahru.
Dato’ Mohzani Abdul Wahab, said, “We are proud to share that Malaysia is the first country in Asia and the third in the world to introduce this new breakthrough fuel. Our new fuel is formulated to help motorists save up to 1 litre per full tank by reducing energy loss in the engine, making savings easier. The new Shell FuelSave Unleaded formula is also designed to give instant benefits, meaning it gets to work from the first full tank. We invite motorists to try the new Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol, available at all Shell stations in Peninsular Malaysia and experience the immediate savings themselves.”
The specially formulated Efficiency Improver available in Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and 97 is designed to reduce energy losses in the engine, lubricating where normal engine oils can’t easily reach. This should enable the components in the engine to turn more freely, resulting in more of the fuel’s energy being made available to drive the wheels.
In addition, the new Shell FuelSave Unleaded petrol contains special detergents designed to keep the inlet valves clean and prevent mileage robbing deposits from building up in the engine, helping motorists save fuel.
The new Shell FuelSave Unleaded is twice as efficient compared with the previous Fuel Economy Formula in giving extra kilometres to Malaysian motorists.
Shell FuelSave Ambassador, Fahrin Ahmad, was also present to celebrate the launch of the new fuel and to share his experience with the new fuel.
“I was very fortunate to be the first Malaysian to try this new fuel, when it was first launched in Europe in May this year. I am proud to be the winner of the 1 litre challenge amongst other FuelSave ambassadors in Europe by driving 21.3km using only 1 litre of Shell FuelSave Unleaded,” said Fahrin.
Shell fuel scientists worked together with Shell vehicle engineers to devise a number of demonstration routes typical of daily driving. Over 5,000 miles were driven in the series of on-road demonstrations. Fuel economy savings were achieved on all routes, with some even surpassing expectations – some vehicles saving in excess of one litre per tank.
The new Shell FuelSave Unleaded 95 and 97 are part of a range of Shell FuelSave initiatives designed to help drivers save fuel and money. For more information on how to get the most out of your fuel, visit shell.com.my/fuelsave

Damn, I just pumped a full tank in Shell today and I didn’t see anything about FuelSave petrol.
This Fuel Save Unleaded 95 and 97 are going to replace the current unleaded 95 and Shell Super ron97 or there will be 4 choices in the petrol station for the consumer to choose?
I think it’s all a marketing gimmick. I don’t think there’s any fuel savings there, maybe an amount so tiny it’s negligible : )
Burning more fuel than we need to
KOTA KINABALU: Many Malaysians do not get the most of their fuel because they drive their vehicles with “unnecessary loads”, said Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd managing director Azman Ismail.
He said a research by the petroleum giant showed that Malaysian drivers also tend to “over-rev” their vehicles.
“It’s important for drivers to drive smoothly as this will help them get the most out of their fuel,” he said after launching Shell’s FuelSave Unleaded for its RON95 and RON97 range of petrol here yesterday.
He said it was for this reason Shell embarked on a campaign to educate Malaysian motorists about fuel-saving tips in conjunction with the launch of the company’s “breakthrough” petrol in the peninsula last September.
Shell Fuel Technology manager Eric Holthusen said Malaysian drivers could save as much as 10% of their fuel bill by being aware and practising fuel-saving tips.
Azman said Shell was assessing the demand for RON97 petrol in the Tawau district in Sabah’s east coast.
He was commenting on a complaint by Tawau MP Chua Soon Bui that the RON97 petrol had not been available at all petrol stations in the district for the past six months.

Shell eyes return to growth as reserves jump
Royal Dutch Shell Plc said it was planning a return to robust growth in oil and gas production after seven years of decline and unveiled strong reserves additions that should underpin longer-term growth aims.
Europe’s largest oil company by market value said it was targeting output of 3.5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in 2012, up from 3.15 million in 2009 — equivalent to an annual growth rate of 3.5 per cent.
Earlier today, Australia’s Arrow Energy Ltd said it was in “active discussions” with Shell and PetroChina over their joint US$3 billion (RM10.2 billion) takeover offer.
Shell’s London-listed “A” shares were up 1.4 per cent at 0936 GMT, outperforming a 0.75 per cent rise in the STOXX Europe 600 Oil and Gas index.
“It’s a very strong message,” one analyst said, adding the output target was above his forecast.
The company previously said it expected production to be flat in 2010 before new projects ramp up in 2011 and 2012.
“We are moving into a delivery window across the next five years, and beyond that, we have a tremendous opportunity set for the 2015-2020 timeframe,” chief executive Peter Voser said.
Italian rival Eni said on Friday it aimed to grow output by 2.5 per cent per annum to 2013 while European number two BP Plc is targeting annual growth of 1-2 per cent.
In its annual strategy statement, Shell also predicted rising production beyond 2012, underpinned by a new focus on exploration.
Voser said high-cost, infrastructure-led projects, such as Shell’s US$18-19 billion gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar and multi-billion dollar oil sands projects in Canada, would in future only supplement the exploration effort.
Shell’s production strategy has been built around such large, technology-driven projects in recent years.
Nonetheless, Shell said it will have to spend US$25-$30 billion/year out to 2014 to achieve its growth — the largest capital investment or capex programme in the industry.
The company said that last year it added new reserves equivalent to almost three times the amount of oil and gas it pumped.
Its reserves replacement rate of 288 per cent compares with levels of 133 per cent at industry leader Exxon Mobil and 129 per cent at BP.
It is also a turnaround from the 98 per cent Shell achieved in 2008 and the 17 per cent recorded in 2007.
“This was the best year for exploration in a decade,” the company said.
Shell’s focus on building production will also see it reduce its downstream footprint.
The company said it planned to exit 35 per cent of its retail markets, and repeated plans to sell 15 per cent of its worldwide refining portfolio.
