Health and happiness fest returns
.
THE second Malaysian Health and Happiness Festival, which will be held at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur on March 20 and 21, will bring together international and local alternative healers and medical practitioners to promote natural health and emotional wellness.
Following the success of the event last year, the organisers are hoping to tap into the many natural healing methods that are practised in Malaysia, thanks to our multi-cultural heritage.
“The Malays, Chinese and Indians all have their respective approach to healing and this festival aims to help them to meet, communicate and leverage on each other’s strength,” event organiser Myriam Oliveres said.
The festival is aimed at raising funds for the Wealth of Women Centre (WOW) as well as help educate the public on the importance of health and happiness and how to attain them.
It will feature an exhibition by entrepreneurs showcasing their services and treatment methods, and workshops by panel of speakers well-versed in their respective fields.
More than 50 speakers from around the world wil also be presenting 45-minute seminars throughout the two days.
“These workshops are aimed at helping to empower the public to look at the bright side of things and develop the philosophy of happiness,” said Oliveres, who believes the public is very interested in health and wellness, in the wake of so much negativity as a result of the economic recession and hectic lifestyle.
Among the Malaysian speakers will be Terry Ng, who will be speaking on “Manifesting One’s Natural Healing Abilities”, while Avis Ng from the Malaysia Psychology Centre will present a talk titled “Raise Your Child with Successful Social Skills.“
Meanwhile, Theresa Commadeur from Australia will demonstrate simple energy techniques for calm, clear and peaceful mind.
Other items include a Vasthu talk by StarMag columnist T. Selva while Lai Wai Kee will share tips on healthy couple communication.
“There will also be a kids’ corner where we will try to help parents improve their child’s life rather than spend time in front of the television,” Oliveres said.
The event runs from 10am to 8pm on both days. Admission to the exhibition is free, while admission to the talks is RM20 per session (RM10 for students and senior citizens), RM100 per day or RM150 for both days.
