Donate To Alleviate The Humanitarian Suffering In Haiti

By now, you know about the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on 12 January at 17:00 hours and the devastation to the country is over-whelming.

We all has witness the most heartbreaking, devastating photos of people trapped under rocks, almost all buildings reduced to piles of rubble, and many lost souls wandering the streets completely stunned, with dried tears streaking the ashes on their faces.

As many Families have been displaced or torn to pieces and some are still trapped alive in the rubble of the buildings with no sign of finding survival.

Here are a  ways to help:

I would like to appeal to generous Malaysians to donate to the MRCS International Relief Fund to alleviate the sufferings of the victims of an earthquake that struck the Haitian coast.

We Are The World 25 For Haiti – Official Video

.

Recorded on February 1st, 2010, in the same studio as the original 25 years earlier (Henson Recording Studios, formerly A&M Recording Studios) “We Are The World 25 For Haiti”, in which Jones and Richie serve as executive producers and producers, was created in collaboration with executive producers Wyclef Jean, Randy Phillips and Peter Tortorici; producers Humberto Gattica and RedOne; and co-producers Rickey Minor, Mervyn Warren and Patti Austin to benefit the Haitian earthquake relief efforts and the rebuilding of Haiti.

Academy Award-winning writer-director Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby), whose own personal efforts as well as those of Artists for Peace and Justice have already saved countless lives in Haiti, filmed the private recording session to create the accompanying video and behind-the-scenes production, and serves as Film Director and as an Executive Producer with Jones, Richie, Jean, Phillips and Tortorici.

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

  1. Commercial flights to Haiti resumed

PORT AU PRINCE: After 38 days the 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook Haiti, commercial flights at the airport Toussaint Louvertreu in Port au Prince were resumed on Friday.

According to local media news reports, the first flight arriving in Port au Prince was a American Airlines plane coming from Miami of the United States.

The American Airlines operates three non-stop daily flights to Haiti, reports China’s Xinhua news agency.

Two of the flights will leave from Miami’s international airport and the other from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood airport in Florida.

The American Airlines will also offer four flights per week departing from the international airport John F. Kennedy in New York.

Meanwhile, the company American Eagle will start offering flights from San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 12.

According to the National Office of Civil Aviation, despite less favourable conditions at the airport, special preparations have been made to allow resumption of commercial flights due to the urgent need of transportation of humanitarian aid.

The Toussaint Louverture airport is the only international airport in Haiti, which was severely damaged by the earthquake. So far, it has been used only to receive military flights and those with humanitarian aid loads.
