Jim Rogers: The Swine Flu Could Be A Disaster Collapses for the World Economy
The media has been hyper-focused past few weekend on the news that more than 950 people in Mexico have become infected with Swine flu, also known as Influenza A H1N1.
Nearly 80 people have died from the outbreak.
It is reported Mexico City has banned restaurants and cafes from serving all food except takeaways in a bid to help prevent the spread of the deadly swine flu virus.
The strain appears to have spread to across several countries including the United States. One of the most notable pieces of information about this outbreak is that in the U.S. and Canada the cases have been described as "mild".
What is the effects of the pandemic to news of dangerous flu viruses to the Current Deep Reccession?
In a recent article, Reuters pointed out in 2008 that International Monetary Fund(IMF) said a flu outbreak could cost $2.8 trillion and cause a 4.5% drop in global Gross Domestic Product(GDP).
In other words, it would almost certainly turn the Current Deep Recession into a Worldwide Depression!
